Position Summary:
The school Dean of Student Affairs is responsible for providing the leadership and engagement towards the delivery of programs and services to support students’ academic achievement, personal and social development. In addition, the Dean of Student Affairs is charged with working cooperatively with the principal, counselor, staff, students, and parents towards creating a safe, supportive and a positive school climate.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a resource for staff, administrators, and parents in working with students, creating a positive school climate, and helping students develop a positive self-concept.
- Develop programs to promote positive students’ behavior as well as intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with staff, administrators, and parents through the response to intervention process and effectively communicate it.
- Provide leadership to various student enrichment programs and activities throughout the year.
- Manage and enforce school behavioral expectations, including attendance and classroom alignment with student behavioral expectations and classroom management plans.
- Identify, create and coordinate education alternatives for students in need.
- Collaborate with the school counselor and personnel to create and maintain research-based behavioral interventions and train faculty and staff in those interventions.
- Manage the documentation of student behavior through the student management system.
- Assist in the maintenance of the crisis management plan and school safety requirements.
- Compile, analyze, and share student discipline data regularly, and use that data to make decisions.
- Investigate student complaints and grievances.
- Investigate, adjudicate, and monitor minor infractions of the school code in the form of progressive disciplines such as detentions, classroom referrals, and in-school suspension.
- Maintains disciplinary records required by policy, regulation, law or good practice.
- Maintain appropriate certifications and training hours as required.

Education/Training (Requisite Skills and Training):
- Master’s Degree in an Educational or related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of supervisory or disciplinary experience preferred. Prior experience in classroom teaching is a must.
- Ability to work with staff and students of different cultural backgrounds.
- Solid written, oral and presentation skills. Must be a proficient MS Office user.

- Demonstrated ability to manage conflict through quality decision-making and effective problem-solving.
- Ability to handle intense or controversial situations with levity and humor.
- Well-versed in Islamic Fluency in English, with Arabic being a plus.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
- Successful candidate must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
