IANT Quranic Academy (IQA) is a unique private Islamic school serving North Texas. IQA’s mission is to develop the next generation of American Muslim Scholars who pose an upright and noble character through integrated training in the religious and contemporary sciences, and who are capable of meeting the modern challenges of our diverse society through guidance, service, and leadership.

IQA is one of the few Islamic schools in the country, and the only one in the DFW metroplex, to offer a complete Hifz (Quran memorization) and Alim (Islamic Scholar) program in conjunction with a full academic program (K-12). IQA is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) and is a member of First Amendment Schools. IQA is currently seeking a principal for the 2015-16 school year.

Position Summary: The Principal serves as the educational and motivational leader and is responsible for managing the policies, regulations and procedures to ensure that all students are supervised in a safe and traditional Islamic learning environment that meets the approved curricula and mission of the school. The Principal is also responsible for achieving academic excellence through collaboration and nurturing of all members of the school staff and monitoring the scheduling, curriculum development, extracurricular activities, personnel management, emergency procedures, and facility operations.

 

 

 Education/Training (Requisite Skills and Training):

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master’s Degree in Education or related field
  • Principal certification
  • Educational administrative experience, preferably at the K-12 level
  • Demonstrated and proven ability in leading and structuring middle and high-school with over 200 students.
  • Exhibits understanding of young students, connects and is patient
  • Assume administrative responsibility and leadership for the planning, organization, operation, supervision, and evaluation of education programs, services and facilities of the school.
  • Lead in the review and development of the vision statement and long term plan for educational and administrative improvement.
  • Lead and conduct the annual performance review of the school.
  • Oversee the compliance of safety standards for students and staff.
  • Manage the day to day operations of the school, including implementing plans, procedures (AP), programs and systems to achieve clearly defined results in the major areas of school operations.
  • Prepare and submit a proposed budget in April of each year, detailed by category. Upon approval, administer the adopted budget.
  • Prepare recommended Policies and Administrative Procedure for Board consideration and approval. Implement approved Policy and AP.
  • Provide leadership to adjust curriculum and teaching strategies to improve student performance.
  • Direct and oversee the appraisal of student performance by teaching staff and the subsequent reports to parents.
  • Establish student conduct goals and develop a character building program to encourage and guide student personal growth, self-discipline and self-sufficiency.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of supervisory or leadership experience in an Islamic school, specifically high-school. Prior experience in classroom teaching.
  • Ability to work with staff and students of different cultural backgrounds.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to respond quickly and effectively to changing priorities.
  • Solid written, oral and presentation skills. Must be a proficient MS Office user.
  • Well-versed in Islamic Knowledge.
  • Fluency in English, with Arabic being a plus.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States. Successful candidate must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
