Our mission is to inspire and equip high school youth of faith to take action for climate justice in their homes, communities, and congregations so that our society will become increasingly sustainable and just for all people. Our program combines interfaith dialogue, environmental education, community service, and action for greater sustainability. This intern will receive a small stipend.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Intern will assist with any of the following, based on experience:
- Planning + logistics of environmental community service events;
- Publicity and promotion of various events, workshops, and application process;
- Co-facilitating mini workshops on climate change at local congregations;
- Contributing to Social media communication and website;
- Drafting flyers and contributing to quarterly newsletter;
- Updating data base of contacts;
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants MUST have the following:
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong candidates will have some combination of:
- Experience working on event publicity and promotion through social media;
- Experience organizing logistics for conferences, events, or service days;
- Experience working on databases and office administration;
- Identification with any religious or faith tradition and ability to work with people from a diversity of traditions;
- Demonstrated commitment to social change, experience with action or advocacy campaigns ideal;
- Experience working or volunteering for a non-profit organization;
- Experience exploring social justice issues at personal and community levels;
- Technologically savvy: basic office software, social networking media.
