Open Position – School Principal
Pleasant View School in Memphis, Tennessee (grades K-8th) strives for the development of an Islamic personality among its students with excellence in all walks of life - academic, moral, religious and social.
PVS is now accepting applications for the position of principal for the next academic year 2012-2013 (US citizens and permanent residents only).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide Managerial and Leadership skills with sound and broad understanding of Islam by being a good practicing Muslim
- Build solid Interpersonal skills that can be translated into a positive work environment and a strong community relations
- Identify, attract and nurturetalented teachers and staff
- Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students and staff and account for academic and professional performance
- Manage, evaluate, and superviseeffective standard operation procedures consistent with the philosophy, mission, values, and goals of the school including: academic and Islamic programs, athletic programs, and discipline systems to ensure a safe environment
- Devise and utilize assessment tools for teachers, personnel management, office operations, facility maintenance, and emergency procedures
- Constantly brief the Board of Directors about the daily operations and the academic needs of the school
Qualifications:
- An advanced degree in Education or related fields with several years-experience in school administration/leadership with proven record of teaching
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Arabic
- Able to design, improve and assess academic and Islamic curricula
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with teachers, staff, and students with demonstrated ability to embrace and respect diversity
