The Operations Manager of the Islamic Center of Irving is responsible for overseeing
and managing the day-to-day operations and administration of the Masjid. This includes
managing the facilities, coordinating events, supervising staff and volunteers, and
ensuring the smooth functioning of the Masjid's operations to provide a safe and
welcoming environment for worshippers and community members.
Candidates will be expected to be hands-on and capable enough to handle any situation
that may arise during work, over the phone or in person. Candidates must be able to
prioritize tasks and organize office operations and procedures.
The Operations Manager of the Islamic Center of Irving plays a crucial role in ensuring
the smooth operations of the Masjid and creating a welcoming environment for the
Muslim community and non-Muslim guests. The successful candidate will be an
organized, proactive, and culturally sensitive professional who is dedicated to serving
the community and upholding the values and principles of the Masjid. Additionally, the
Operations Manager will be expected to withhold the values of the Qur’an and Sunnah
and adhere to the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating the
? Work closely with the Shura Council Members to develop and implement policies
and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization's
? Ensure front office of ICI is responsive by scheduling the existing staff effectively
to cover the office time which may be scattered around prayer times such
morning session, evening session - Dhuhr to Isha
? Take the ownership and accountability of front office, event management and
? Proactively ensure masjid facilities such as prayer hall, water supply, restrooms,
Wudhu area are all functioning, follow-up with the maintenance committee to
timely address any issues.
? Ensure the masjid is clean, safe and well-maintained for Musallees
? Ensure the masjid provides periodic updates on the finance status, work with
Treasurer on budget report and periodically share with community
? Liaise with sister volunteers to ensure sisters’ area needs are addressed.
? Manage and oversight ICI security personnels.
? Ensure the masjid complies with all relevant laws and regulations such as vendor
management, license verification, etc.
? Liaise with all operational committees at the Masjid (ex: Media and
Communications, IT, Operations, Facilities, Security and Parking, HR, etc.)
? Collaborate with community development lead to ensure Event Coordination:
Coordinate logistics, such as scheduling, and resources to ensure smooth event
? Take ownership of setting up equipment during a presentation, including portable
or hanging projectors, screens, TVs, slide transition clickers, and the ability to set
up and maintain the sound system.
? Ensure masjid governing events such as yearly elections, town hall meetings
logistics are well planned and executed
? Ensure smooth functioning of day-to-day office operations through a range of
administrative, financial and managerial skills.
? Staff and Volunteer Management: Supervise and manage Masjid staff,
volunteers, and contractors. Conduct volunteer drive to assist administrative
tasks and augment the administrative employee team. Recruit, train, schedule,
and coordinate volunteers for various Masjid activities. Provide leadership,
guidance, and support to staff and volunteers to ensure efficient operations and
adherence to Masjid policies and procedure.
? All employees will be required to report to the Operations Manager. The
Operations Manager, henceforth, will report to the Shura Council or a designated
member of the Shura Council.
Qualifications and Skills:
? Bachelor's or equivalent
? Knowledge of Islamic practices, culture, and traditions
? Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
? Good communication, verbal and written skills
? A dynamic personality that can interact with both brothers and sisters from
different cultural backgrounds.
? Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
? Be responsible for ensuring ICI office front desk employees are available during
day time and Salah time to receive ICI community members
? Authorized to work in the United States of America.
? Ability to operate and administer on websites, google document, taking printout
? Ability to operate on digital notice boards
