Childcare Staff Positions
Islamic School of Irving is looking to staff its new Childcare program catering to boys and girls aged 18months – 3 years. Selected individuals will be reporting to the ECH/Elementary Director and be responsible for the day to day operations of the childcare facility. Successful candidates will ensure that childcare program conforms to the educational, social, cognitive artistic and physical needs of the children in a safe, nurturing and Islamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring an educational, caring, safe, healthy and Islamic environment for the children and parents.
- Spark imagination, build self-esteem and help children discover and learn on a daily basis.
- Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child.
- Conduct or provide assistance for assessment of children's development.
- Maintain daily open communication with parents and confidentiality.
- Ensure that the school is operating in accordance with school policies and procedures and adhere to all applicable licensing regulations.
- Develop both long and short range activities in accordance with ISI’s objectives, practice and philosophy.
- Arrange a classroom environment in accordance to childcare goals and philosophy
- Keep all appropriate records such as records, attendance and time sheets.
- Keep accident reports.
- Coordinate field trips.
- Inspect and report damaged or lost materials.
- Prepare or maintain monthly plan charts.
- Attend in-service days and staff meetings.
- Report any suspect abuse to supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Training (Requisite Skills and Training):
- Minimum Associates degree in education (Minimum Bachelors for Asst. Director) with focus on early childhood, child development or related field.
- One year of full time teaching experience in a child day care center, family or group family day care home or other early childhood program.
- Knowledge of Quran and Islamiyat.
- Fluency in English, excellent communication, public relations and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in first-aid and healthcare beneficial.
- Experience working with diverse community.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States. Successful candidate must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
