Title: Resident Scholar
Summary: ILIA is seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable and solid individual who can act as an in-house scholar to provide religious guidance and hold classes. Must be an independent team player, with solid vision, and sound understanding of the American society and the needs of Muslims in particular youth.
Qualifications:
- Memorize the holy Quran
- Solid understanding of hadith
- Excellent Arabic and English
- Ability to develop classes, give khutbahs and public talks and connect with youth
- Versatile and adaptive to various instruction mechanisms
- Knowledge of American history and sociology
- Degree in Islamic Theology, Anthropology, Sociology, Education or Human Development
- Solid planning, organization and direction skills
- Excellent writing and public speaking skills
- Physically fit and able to perform outdoor activities, interact with youth and involve in group sports
Responsibilities
- Offer weekly workshops to youth and adults
- Provide khutbahs and public talks
- Outreach and dawaa
- Research topics related to the mission of the organization
- Offer daily classes and talks
- Develop curriculum and syllabus for various courses and programs
