Sisters Youth Coordinator Job Description
Role Overview
The Sisters Youth Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing, and leading programs
that engage youth sisters in the Irving community. The role focuses on fostering a welcoming,
inclusive, and spiritually enriching environment through events, mentorship, and leadership
opportunities.
Responsibilities
Program & Event Planning
? Organize and lead regular sisters’ youth events (social, educational, and spiritual)
? Plan and execute creative initiatives (e.g., themed gatherings, workshops, community
outings)
? Coordinate larger community events and collaborate with other teams when needed
Community Engagement
? Build strong relationships with youth participants and general community
? Increase participation and retention of sisters in programs
? Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all attendees
Youth Development
? Mentor and support young sisters in personal and spiritual growth
? Encourage leadership by involving youth in planning and execution of activities
? Facilitate youth-led initiatives and discussions
? Be able to lead halaqah discussions
Creative & Operational Initiatives
? Oversee projects such as space décor and atmosphere improvements for sisters’ events
? Support or manage initiatives like a coffee/snack cart or similar engagement tools
? Develop new ideas to keep programming fresh and appealing for youth sisters group
Collaboration & Communication
? Work closely with the broader Youth Committee and leadership team
? Coordinate with Brothers YC for joint events when appropriate
? Maintain clear communication with parents, volunteers, and community members
Volunteer Management
? Recruit, train, and support volunteers for sisters’ programming
? Create a general “base” of sisters volunteers
? Ensure volunteers are engaged and appreciated
Goals & Outcomes
? Work hand in hand with sisters committee and youth team to increase youth participation
and engagement
? Establish consistent, high-quality programming
? Nurturing a strong sense of sisterhood and community
? Support development of a vibrant, youth-centered environment
Qualifications
? Strong communication and organizational skills
? Experience working with youth (preferred)
? Ability to plan and execute events effectively
? Passion for community building and youth development
? Leadership, creativity, and teamwork skills
Time Commitment (15-20 hrs)
? Regular weekly or biweekly involvement
? Additional time for planning and major events alongside youth team
